Hi all,

This one is either very strange or i'm being incredibly dippy.... I'm rebuilding my oil cooler on my Cat 3126B and looking at the parts manual, some of the seals and gaskets are listed as double the quantity that's fitted.. Like a metal base gasket for the cooler, shows quantity two, where there is one. The O-Rings for the oil filter adapter, there are three recesses but the manual is saying six! There is nowhere for the extra seals to go.

Am I missing a few vitamins here or is this some kind of misprint (or something else)?

I would give Finnings a quick call and ask them to clarify.

Thanks I will on Monday.. There are a few parts in the parts list that seem to specify 2 where there is 1 or 6 where there is 3 (Oil filter adapter and there certainly isn't a recess to fit double O-rings there). But I've not done a Caterpillar Oil Cooler before and of course it's the one that's tight against the boat hull so I don't fancy doing the reassembly twice! :D

I’ve always found Finnings helpful
