Bon giorno! You should go to each of the manufacturer's web site and get as much information as you wish.

A friend has a Katana 50; it sails well and fast... although in big seas the waves slapping under the center part of the boat are alarming.

(I am not a fan of Catamarans) ... opinion of course

I have spent some time on the Privilege but am no cat expert so I can't really offer much comparison. It did sail very well (no dagger boards) but the usual problem (not really a problem) with big cats is that unless you are doing 6 kts the engine tends to get used as you can make an easy 10 direct to your destination. A very comfortable boat, which had the ultimate sailing luxury – proper sprung sleeping mattresses!

The boat can have four double, ensuite sleeping cabins plus a den for the skipper forward of the saloon, so for charter you can possibly have twice the income you might get with the smaller Catana and still offer a quality experience. Of course if you are using it privately this means there is a high level of privacy for your guests and family The galley is down a bit but does not feel remote from the saloon. The public spaces are large enough to cater for these crewing levels and there is ample space for all the kit, air conditioning plant and the rest. I was involved in a re-fit and thought the boat was well put together, the money that was spent was on systems and upgrades with no structural problems.

If you have re-fitting to do the bills will come thick and fast but I guess that is case for either boat or for any other large yacht for that matter. Good luck with the hunt.
