Today I heard the last part of a drama which aparantly took place on the south west side of little Cumbrae, Clyde.
I was saddened to hear a female casualty had to be airlifted to hospital leaving her 3 distressed children on board the boat.
Dont know what the nature of her illness or injury was, but I wish her well and a speedy recovery, and fast renuion with her children.
 
So who was left onboard with the children? I mean some one had to pilot the boat back to shore surely.

The male left on board, which I heard talking to the coastguard, stated that the woman's 3 children were on board and were somewhat distressed at seeing their mother been taken unwell, and been airlifted, but other than that I did not hear how many were on the boat in all, but the man did ask to have the pan pan stood down, so I assume he felt confident to continue with his plans, whatever they were.
 
Listened to the PAN PAN whilst enroute to Brodick....the vessel was the "Silver ????" whoever was doing the radio aboard was first class, very calm and clear, 3 adults and 3 children aboard, the female had gone into spasm after being unwell for the past 30 mins. I understand Rescue 177 airlifteed the cas off and I guess largs lifeboat escorted the vessel back to Largs...........that said a cracking day out on the Clyde, forecast SW 3-4 but we got a SW F6 for a good beat to Brodick....today a forecast SW f2-3 was actually a SW F5-6 giving a cracking reach home to Troon.
