Carving and Marking Note

I took delivery of a new Merry Fisher 855 last weekend which I funded through part exchange of my old Monterey 295 and a mortgage.

As it has a mortgage it is being registered and have received a letter from the MCA with the details for a Carving and Marking note.

After some work with Google, the only place I could find that makes them is in Dublin. No response to e-mail from them so any pointers as to any other source for these in the UK would be much appreciated.

I only cover corporate finance so can only answer from personal experience, but our finance co employed a Marine Lawyer and the Carving and Marking plate was sent to us by them. It may be worth speaking to your finance co as I assume the responsibility to get one to you is theirs or their lawyers ?

THis does not have to be anything special and I used a sign making company. I think letter size and what should be on there is in the instruction letter, so just copy that. Plastic white board and black sign letters is fine.
I would have thought any local surveyor ( as they have to inspect for part I) would know where to go.

Almost a while you wait job once you find the right shop

we bought our boat the same way through lombard marine finance, we have never had to register it or fit any plaque on it, the only thing we have to do each year is tell them where boat is and send a copy of the insurance document showing there interest in the boat.

That's interesting as normally LMF would ask the vessel to be Part1 Registered which also safeguards your financial interest imho.

The solicitors or tonnage surveyor that act on behalf of LMF normally offer a plaque supply service which nowadays is normally engraved on a white hpl plaque at minimulist cost :encouragement:
