Carpets.

I would like to get a new overcarpet made for my cabin with bound edges I have taken a template, any companies to be recommended in the North West, doesn't have to be marine carpet as it is the cabin, but the rubber backing on my cockpit carpets has started to breakdown so if it is a marine company I may get a price for them too. ?

Just had overlaid carpets made for my Phantom 50 by Ed - 07860192119

Very reasonable and good quality.

I've never heard the term "overlayed carpet" before. Is it laying a new carpet over the old or some technical carpet term?

If yer lucks like ours, you'll need a new one every year anyway. I'm down this week fitting the latest one.

Not sure if I have called it correctly. A new carpet to match the existing fitted carpet, loose laid with bound edges to give protection to the fitted carpet and to lift out for cleaning?

I spoke to Ed about 6 weeks ago re renewing my cockpit carpet. He certainly inspired confidence over the phone, even had one for my boat in stock, but unfortunately that's where it stopped. I'm still waiting for the sample, quote, etc etc. But I suppose it is only 6 weeks.................

I would just use a local carpet shop. cheap cheap...

Had my old boat re-carpeted by a neighbor who owns a carpet shop and asked him to knock up a mat with the excess carpet and whip the edges. Carpet still looked as new 3 years later /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Another vote for Ed... made a great job of my cockpit carpet at very reasonable cost.

No problems with contacting him or speed of completion
