needed to carpet my boat so went trawling the local carpet warehouse. previously i'd been faced with hessian-backed which rots or cheap foam-backed which holds water & smells.
new solution is an all-polypropylene carpet with integral underlay that looks like white felt. have had it down for 2 years now and it hasn't rotted, doesn't smell and comes up clean with an annual scrub.
who says progress isn't good.
(p.s. it's also cheap!)

I found this stuff as well, and it is very good, but I then found some even better carpet at "Carpet Right" with a rubbery backing far superior to any previous integral backing I have seen. I think it was called 'resin back' but could be wrong.

Its perfect for boat use. Easy to cut and has a natural grip with rubbery back.

I brought this from Carpet Right and found it great, only problem is it's a PIG to cut, found very sharp scissors were the best.
