The easterly gale here in Jersey really did some damage to boats at St Catherines (thankfully not ours).
All thats left of a Trader 41 is 2 engines stuck to a bit of fibreglass,
a yacht smashed into bits, a RIB broke loose and ended up on the rocks and punctured,
a sailing dinghy smashed up, a cabin cruiser holed and sunk after breaking free, an Orkadian 23 turned over and washed up the beach, a princess 30DS dragged its mooring and ended up looking similar to the Trader and a fletcher and coastworker 180 turned over on their moorings.
2 weeks earlier a boat broke free from its half inch chain and ended up 3 miles out.
Having second thoughts about mooring there...

Yeah and to top it off its caused hefty damage to the breakwater. The other day they found a 2 x 5 x 3 metre void in the end only 20cm down.
Spoke to the owner of the 30DS - him and his dad were in tears
