We were part of the flotilla in Carlingford Lough on Sunday in memory of Captain Dara Fitzpatrick, co-pilot Captain Mark Duffy and Winchmen Paul Ormsby and Ciaran Smith, all of whom perished when their aircraft crashed off the Mayo coast on March 14. Nearly 100 boats took part commencing in Carlingford marina/Warrenpoint sailing in single file to Rostrevor bay for a very moving service of remembrance. Each boat laid either a red or white rose as the present R116 flew past in tribute to their deceased colleagues. Thanks to organiser Sheila Fitzgerald. Excellent food was served back at carlingford marina after the event.....well done lads.
