Career in building/maintaining wooden boats

I am planning a change in career fairly late as I am 28. Building wooden boats is something which I could certainly do with great passion and commitment. It would be useful though to know what the employment prospects are for developing such specialised carpentry skills.

I speak Italian and could relocate to the Mediterranean in future although I am hoping that England has enough industry for some solid employment.

Yes that thread was very intresting and useful. The Wooden Boat Builders Trade Association is a good lead. Some say business is thriving some are less optimistic about the furute of the craft. Will continue to research the job prospects.
