Hi all,

Does anyone know if CYBC can accomodate a 50ft yacht with a 10ft draft? I have emailed them but got no reply.

Cheers

Jams,

Can I suggest you post this again in the Bristol Channel forum? I am a CYC member, and we could not help (I think), but there are a few CYBC members in that forum who might know.

50ft is outside the length allowed by the club rules, and whilst there are a couple of biggish boats there by special arrangement, they are in the low / mid 40s.

A 10 ft draft is not impossible in Cardiff Bay but it will be a PITA at times. Much of the bay is shallow and entrance / exit will be limited at springs.

Wrong....If approved by the com its fine, call marina manager on 07966930823.

Not wrong. Club rule states " Members intending to moor vessels on the Club’s premises which are greater than 40 feet in length or in excess of 10 tonnes displacement must have prior written permission from the Council of Management. " So how is it wrong to say it needs special permission which incidentally isnt from the Commodore?

And I can vouch that a 10 ft or 3m draft will be a PITA in the channel at springs cos my 2m draft is.

Read whats written before going off half cock.

P.S. Do you think its sense to post the marina managers mobile number on here?

I used to be a county councillor, my home, works, private mobile and council mobile was on the council website, wasnt a prob except for one forumite who abused it!
