Caravanning on your boat

Occasionally we have a caravaning weekend....we go to the boat but go nowhere. Is this http://www.sealander.de/index_eng.html taking that too far?

I wonder if a rag & stick version will be available?

I agree with that. It looks a pretty rubbish caravan, and a VERY rubbish boat.

I wouldn't feel safe boating on anything other than a local duck pond in that.

Have you seen the charges at a campsite? The quality of the toilet/ shower block? The kids running around with no control? The constant football/ cricket ball Frisbee? How far in advance you have to book for a good one?

Even on the south coast a UK marina may well be cheaper option and you get 5 star facilities not a bucket in the woods!

Not saying I would do it , but observing WHY some might do it?

If you look on the website you'll see it uses an electric outboard. Just visible on the floating van in the picture p/dog posted.

The old man designed something similar in the 50s. It sold over 250 examples. More like a conventional caravan, slept 4 with galley and loo. Raymond Baxter had one, which wasn't bad for publicity.

That at least has a proper caravan interior.

These motor skis are great The pilot looks terrified, but there is some nice splayed-legs action going on.

Here's the pathe clip. 1955 so excuse the voice over. This was the prototype, all others had a cockpit at the rear with the engine on the back, the original layout shown had some ergonomic probs. That's mother doing the pier head jump in her fetching slacks.
