car reversing camera- cheap solution?

Does anyone NEED one? Would be handy on a boat though ... keeping an eye on your ginger nuts while you're helming.

could get one for the wife&if it's got a shiny screen she could do her lippy @the same time /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif regards m m 1.

the reversing cameras are ok, but its really hard to judge actual distance with them (the fish eye lense of the one i used once gave an odd perspective - they may be better now).

not available on UK Touaregs when I had mine, but there is a continental version, which is linked into steering, and shows lines on the screen, where the car will end up.

We had a new Touareg in our workshop last week as you said turn the wheel and the two green lines on the display show where the car is going to end up , the lines showed that it would miss the workshop door but I can confirm that it did in fact not go through the door it hit it.
