As recounted in the Medway RentaCrew thread, Oldgit and Sue were kind enough to join us as we moved Legacy upriver to its new home at Bray Marina yesterday.

It was a lovely day for it, a convivial lunch was enjoyed in ASK! at Staines, the river was in a kindly state of mind and there were few other boats out and about, albeit quite a few rowers around Chertsey to Staines.

Kept an eye open for Doolittle and rr123 as we passed their drums but no sightings. Gavi was tryng hard to look busy cleaning and prepping Shikara II and volunteered that Richard Shead had passed earlier. When asked what boat they were in the best description he could give was "a 20 foot brown thing".

Suspect we saw the "20 foot brown thing" in Bell Weir to Old Windsor stretch although I would have said it was more a yukky olive green job. We waved, and they waved, but I suspect did not realise who we were.

Anyway, caught Fred in a pensive moment. Anyone care to guess what was going through his mind?

"What a wonderful river, how lucky I am to be crewing for Boatone. How good to see the bottom through the clear waters of the Thames - so different from the Mudway"

Ahhh I thought that was you but did not see the flag!

The boat in question was I believe a Shetland Black prince in proper olive green with brown interior...still it was floating and the sun was shining and my other boat is in the garage!

Shhhhhhh...... I thought as we passed that I should have had the flag out!

Missed out one VIP (well I'm sure he thinks so!) from yesterdays events.

Waiting near the office at Bray for Oldgit to arrive and who do you think should drive up and 'accost me' ? Answers on a postcard please........

To be quite honest, I was having a nap when you dropped by!

I thoroughly enjoyed yesterday. I took Shikara out for a jaunt later in the day but didn't get much further than The Swan. Well, no further to be more precise.

Actually its......
If he tells me one more time how he single handedly...
"saved The Thames from total oblivion"... yet again
I will definately jump ship at the next lock.
Ps.Do you like my my dubious foreign sweatshop produced knock off of a Musto yoting jacket.£25.00 quid from some iffy outlet at Lakeside,as recommended by a forumite over on MoBoChat.
