One of the more unusual items at Beaulieu this weekend that I "could not do without" was a radar plotting system invented by Captain E.R Knights. The system is a plotting device, not unrelated to the Battenberg Course Indicator, that resolves relative velocity problems from radar plots. It seems that the system is only usable with plots from a relative motion, head up display, and with the advent of automatic radar plotting is a system really only of historic interest. However I should be interested to hear from anybody familiar with this device and who might possibly remember how it operates.
