Can\'t stay away any longer.

Ok, so i have been away for a wee bit more than a week.

So tell me what have i missed, whats been happening???
Did i miss anything interesting??

I did miss you lot, or rather this place,,,,,,,,,,,How sad!!!!

So now i'm back heres a quick joke for you.......

A frog goes into a bank and approaches the teller.

He can see from her nameplate that her name is Patricia Whack.

"Miss Whack, I'd like to get a $30,000 loan to take a holiday."

Patty looks at the frog in disbelief and asks his name.

The frog says his name is Kermit Jagger, his dad is Mick Jagger,
and that it's okay, he knows the bank manager.

Patty explains that he will need to secure the loan with some
collateral.

The frog says, "Sure. I have this," and produces a tiny porcelain
elephant, about an inch tall, bright pink and perfectly formed.

Very confused, Patty explains that she'll have to consult with the
bank manager and disappears into a back office.

She finds the manager and says, "There's a frog called Kermit
Jagger out there who claims to know you and wants to
borrow $30,000, and he wants to use this as collateral."

She holds up the tiny pink elephant. "I mean, what in the world is
this?"

(you're gonna love this)

(its a real treat)

(a masterpiece)

(wait for it)

The bank manager looks back at her and says...

"It's a knickknack, Patty Whack. Give the frog a loan. His old
man's a

Rolling Stone."

(You're singing it, aren't you? Yeah, I know you are......../forums/images/icons/laugh.gif)

Never take life too seriously! Come on now, you grinned, I know
you did!!!/forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Its great to be back.
Have a lovely day/forums/images/icons/smile.gif.

Well,
Believe Englander may be for sale, lot's of discussion about Planning vs Semi-displacement hulls ... even displacement stuff, Jet driven wallets, christmas present ideas, car headlights, semi-naked bodies used in marketing, something about changing helm stations, Detroit Diesels, Bowthrusters ... and loads of NB things and some successful "extrating the Uri.e" of people as well... Hope you had a nice time away ... basically, you did not miss much ... quiet around here at this time of year...

Re: Can\'t stay away any longer.

Have you only just got back !!! Thats what I call a holiday.

The highlight was, of course, the Forum (Yorkshire) Cruising Clubs epic voyage from Goole to South Ferriby and back on "petrolhead" MW's fine Rinker. The highlights were

1) Exiting lock in Goole Docks
2) Having the entire lower reaches of the Ouse and the Humber to ourselves - apart from 3 barges.
3) Nice pint at Hope & Anchor
4) MW blaming me for loss of rev's on way back - plantlife around the prop was the real reason but he said I was jinxed (taking into account my Med experiences)
5) My nearly abandoning ship mid Humber when MW started talking about diesel conversion - fortunately he changed topic before I actually jumped.
6) MW having a leak astern from the transom because he didn't want to fill the holding tank and me playfully considering applying full throttle to see if he would fall off - The water was v cold so imagine news story:- "Frozen solid man recovered from River Ouse - probably fallen from boat but authorities are unsure why he is holding his meat and two veg"
7) Locking back into Goole Docks with a bloody huge barge and MW deciding to control it on the throttle rather than tying up. (To be fair boat control was v. good only nearly touched sides once)
8) Visit to McDonalds for warm drink - and contrary to rumours we didn't share a Happy Meal we did have a meal each! - supersized.

Shame you couldn't join us. MW has posted some photos somewhere.

PS Just a warning don't ask Gludy about Red Diesel or Brendan why he has such a sharp tongue.

There was also one post with well over 100 posts - guess the topic - DECKSHOES!
You can tell the seasons over

Awe, did you miss me/forums/images/icons/wink.gif.

Nothing happened to me, came home from the holiday, back to work which at the moment is a bit manic, with the run up to christmas.

I've just read your VHF on the roof of the car thread, Sounds like you are getting old, you'll soon be catching up with gramps./forums/images/icons/laugh.gif/forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Re: Can\'t stay away any longer.

Boad doing great ... have started on a few items that I knew was needed.. planning to re-work some of the plumbing (holding tank) and will start servicing SB engine (need to take out injectors as one is sticking a bit ans smokes like nothing when starting up, but very clean when underway...), so will do this properly and check spray patterns... may change to bigger ones, if not too bad exchange cost... sort of fancy bringing them up to 410's ...
