Can\'t get it up!

Thought that might grab your attention. I need some advice, my Volvo 290 leg will not stay up. The pump is working fine and there is oil in the pump, when I try to move the leg manually, oil floats to the service. I'm convinced that it is the seals on the rams that have gone and the question I have is does the engine have to come out to do the work?

Any thoughts most welcome.

No - just the leg off which you can do yourself at a pinch although best with 2 of you. You can check for leaks better with it out of the water. Could be a ram pipe rather than a ram seal. I think I've got a pair of 290 rams in the garage if you do find they've gone.

Check the hoses first. They can get trapped between the castings and rub through the rubber hose ,and another thing and I know this sounds silly, but make sure they are done up tight. On mine as you raised the leg the hose twisted undone and allowed fluid to escape but appeared secure when leg was down.hoses from keyparts at about £60.00 each

Exercise is bunk.If you are healthy, you do not need it;if you are sick you should not take it.
