Canvas. It looks much beter, folds up easier and its lighter. Mines about five or six years old and still loos like new. Apart from the seagull shit. Dont know much about the washing up liquid. Mines seen plenty, it dosn't seem to do alot of good. But then again dosn't seem to do alot of harm.

I'm getting quotes to renew mine and change colour from Black to Burgundy.. Turns out my existing
one is black PVC, along with the dodgers and seat covers on aft deck. When I asked the guy quoting
the works as to the pros and cons of each, he replied thus: PVC waterproof and easy to clean
whereas canvas not. PVC cheaper than canvas. He sent me a sample of the PVC in Burgundy it looks
ok.. Whilst canvas is more traditional I think the benefits of PVC outway this cos its water proof.

Sorry! Haydn, didn't see your answer! But there is two types, the normal stuff is semi waterproof and the other stuff is actually proofed. You can also get them laudered and proofed, I got mine done by Calibra marine, in Dartmouth, don't know where they sent them, but they did a great job! Still waterproof after 4 years.

Re: Re Bolocks hlb

I agree that of course tents etc are waterproof so the guy who is pricing my canopy is trying to
bullshit me about canvas, wonder what his motive is.
