I am looking for a Canopy for a Bayliner 185 (2006). Does anyone know of a good company/manufacturer? The dealers want an arm and a leg!! Any help would be apreciated.
Hi, I bought a canopy for a 175 from a company called Boat canopies and covers direct cost more than £300 less than the same one from a dealer. Made from Sunbrella. Try www.boatcanopiesandcoversdirect.co.uk
Good luck!
I smell a rat to be honest... maybe im just paranoid /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Eitherway, i was quoted £150 and £25 for delivery to england for a custom made canopy in the South of France for my 175, so still overpriced I reckon..
Sorry if this is a genuine request, cant remember the name of the company, never got round to buying it in the end /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Bayliner canopy for £150? What's it made of? Clingfilm??!! Pity you can't remeber the company eh?? I was quotes £1156 from my local dealer and £1200 from a local manufacturer (Loch Lomond Boat covers). Perhaps 'whoever' gave you the quote missed a zero off the end (or had too much French wine)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I contaced them for a price. I was quoted the following from Windermere Aquatic.
Thank you for your parts enquiry. You requested a price for a “full weather canopy” so I have listed the price of a full set of Convertible canvas that is on frame work and a Mooring cover that covers the whole boat and is used for trailering of when the boat is in storage. I have attached two photographs to show you what both canvas looks like.
The following prices are including vat;
Convertible Top` £336.00
Side Curtain Port £73.50
Side Curtain Starboard £73.50
Slant Back £330.00
Boot £146.00
Alloy Frame £236.00
The delivery lead-time is 4-5 weeks from our order date.
The canvas used is a heavy duty waterproof vinyl. If you would like to order please contact us with delivery and payment details.
So they certainly look cheaper to me!! They want £146 just for the boot!!!
P.S. I haven't registered in the last minute or been to France!
Spose it depends on what kind of cover, i was quoted for a sun canopy made from top-notch waterproof fabric which had a marine pun sort of name, which again i forget /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
The latest poster appears to confirm my suspicion that this is an advertising trick but its not for me to decide /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
These are the original specced covers for Bayliners if you order them with your new boat, less fitting.
I had these fitted to my 602 back in '04 and they're still like new, fit like a glove AND you can still see through the acrylic windows. They're made in France and imported by Aquatic.
Only stands to reason....IMHO...you get what you pay for. Oh and for the cynics the boats been kept outside since new WITH the covers fitted.
