I'm sure this has been done to death on previous posts but I cannot get on with the new search facility.
My problem is one of the pins which screw into the grp has pulled out. What is the best solution to refix it firmly? Is sikaflex the best option? Thanks Geoff

dunno exactly which type of fastener but had the the ones with a self tapping thread pull out. I drilled the hole out a bit bigger to clean it up then just mixed up a bit of epoxy from a twin tube pack. Poke it down the hole with a matchstick and then cover with some tape to stop it slithering out. If you are clever can whip off tape when resin still "green" and trim it up before goes hard. Then redrill to suit core of self tapper.

I agree with the epoxy adhesive (Araldite) idea. I would use the slow setting type not the rapid type.

I dont think I would drill the hole out. If it is clean and dry I'd just stick the screw back in with some Araldite but I might very, very lightly grease the thread so that it can be unscrewed at a later date.

(OK I admit I have a soldering iron on the boat that I heat on a gas ring)
