My friends sport cruiser has rust or scorch mark stains on the clear pvc windows fitted to his canopy were it has been touching the stainless steel bars, does anyone know if we can use any type of polish or any other chemicals to remove the stains without causing further damage to the window panels,I have tried G3 which is similar to T cut without having much effect.greatful for any replies

Try 'Magic Sponge' seems to shift most stains.

Never thought of the magic sponge,I have some at home, will take down to my mates boat and give it a try, seems to be the cheapest option, they seem to be scorch marks on the windows, probably from the heat of the stainless steel bars on a sunny day that seem to be against the window panels,I've told him to put some pipe lagging around the bits that touch the windows to stop it getting worse.

We've had the same issue on several boats to date - I think the clear PVC gets "burnt" by the bars / sun's reflection therefrom, rather than being stained or soiled.

To stop it happening, we used hot-water pipe lagging with the right internal diameter to cover the steel bars. If you use a grey / darkish color then it's more difficult to see the existing marks, too.

Alternatively, cover those strips with some canvas on the outside, as if it was part of the cover.

If you do find that something that can remove the marks, please let me know as well!

Burn Marks

Last year some mentioned Brasso metal polish tried it did work to a degree, but this year 1st bit of sun and it just spread all over the window when rolled up.

Now having the windows replaced 800mm x 800mm £55.

Its caused by the chrome frame getting hot and the burning the plastic windows

As suggested pipe lagging or similar, also scene a neoprene sleeve on the bars these look a look smarter.

I ordered cleaning restorer from the USA made by IMAR but awaiting deliver, will keep you informed if it works

That would be great, agree it is definitely scorching, going to take some pipe lagging down to stop it getting worse.tried the magic sponge but it did not remove it,will try brasso next.
