Help needed, planning to move my boat to canaries uk, mainland europe , and ferry from south spain all on a transporter, boat is 30ft sports cruiser, uk reg , & vat paid.
customs want 13% of the value of the boat to issue a 2 year visiting permit ( 12,000 euro ) to let it into the islands, if motored in no tax. any advice? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
 
Hi, I live in Lanzarote and have a lot to do with boats here. I think you will find that if you motor the boat in to the islands then you will only be able to keep it here for 6 months. However, there have recently been some changes to the laws. I have a Spanish 'gestoria' who deals with all of my boating paperwork issues and is a specialist in this field for the Canaries.
