Canal du Midi - Winter lay up

Currently in Corsica but plan to leave the boat in the Canal du Midi this winter on its way back to the UK. Can anyone recommend a suitable boatyard Med side of Carcassonne?

I heard one sorry tale of someone who laid their keelboat up in the French inland waterways and the pound was drainned for winter maintenence leaving them with some big bills. Is this a one-off or should I reconsider my plan to leave the boat in the canal. Does anyone have any expereince of this?

There is a new marina basin in Carcasson. Or there is a very good one at Beucaries but that is a little out of your way. Why not go up the Rhone and then you'll have a lot of choices.
