Canal de Briare - France

I have just been told, there are problems with a lock at 'Les Sept Ecluses a Rogny near Briare - the canal is closed and there are many boats, including hotel boats, waiting for it to be repaired.

Supposedly VNF will/can not start until week commencing 6.9.13 and it could take 'some time .......?

Therefore may I suggest anyone thinking of taking that route should contact VNF to see if this rumour is true.

18.7 (aval de l’écluse Ste Barbe) du vendredi 30 août 13h au vendredi 6 septembre 19h (avis
n°FR/2013/04551), en raison de la rupture du chardonnet aval de l’écluse n°17 de Rogny. Le bief
de Ste barbe devant être vidé, aucun bateau ne peut y stationner
