I'm guessing this will be a resounding no, but...

Exhaust outlet on the old D1LC is 24mm, outlet on the new D2 is also 24mm. However, the exhause hose fits the D1LC but it's slightly too small for the D2, probably by around 0.5mm or so. Go figure.
Anyway, I've tried forcing a tapered mandrill down it (end of a fishing rod rest to be honest) to no effect. Is there any way of stretching it slightly? it's the standard ribbed type exhaust hose, stainless steel maybe?

As its likely made of stainless it will be very stiff, especially cold. Something like a Rotherberger pipe expander will probably get you your 0.5mm, or else obtain a steel tapered wedge and heat the pipe end cherry red, and ram it in, but I appreciate using a blow torch to get the pipe that hot is not something to try with the pipe in situ, unless the pipe can be removed to a workshop.

Might be easier to file down the Eber outlet tube.

No you can not, it is spiral wound and may leak even if you do manage it, it is possible that it has become compressed by the clamp, take a couple of inches off the end and it may be OK, also sometimes winding it on to the exhaust outlet against the spiral helps as going with the spiral tightens it. A little exhaust assembly compound always helps, you should be using it anyway as a seal.

Thanks very much both, it actually turns out that my old D1LC seems to have a 22mm exhaust for some reason, with corresponding 22mm exhaust hose hence it not fitting the D2.
I've got a metre of 24mm hose now, but of course the skin fitting doesn't fit it. Ho hum.

You can buy a 22mm to 24mm adapter, it's a Webasto part, let me know if you want the part number.

Edit to add part # which ius 92641A, about £12

Also be aware of various configurations before ordering, some exhausts are 22mm from the heater to the silencer the silencer, is then 24mm out with corresponding size exhaust tube and skin fitting.

Many thanks for that, I had no idea such a part was available. I assumed that 22mm would've been too restrictive for a system designed for 24mm.
That would have saved me an awful lot of hassle, I've destroyed the skin fitting now, the hose had been welded inside it and I've chopped it off hoping to find a 24mm fitting underneath the home fabricated connection (no such luck of course)
Would have saved me some money as well as time and frustration!
Thanks anyway, I'll know for next time,

Chris

Edit: Thanks for the advice re configuration, I've double, and triple checked the outlet on the D2, it's definitely 24mm as specified.
