Can you name a more crowded anchorage?

Indeed, can you name this one - I dropped my hook here at 1400 on Sunday. One of the others present reported that there had been over 70 boats anchored there earlier in the day.

Re: Can you name that flag flying on the RH spreader?

The flag flying on the starboard spreader is, ahem, the burgee of the Rear Commodore of the Royal Welsh Yacht Club. Fearful that you may think him stuffy, I should add that said Rear Commodore could be seen, soon after this picture was taken, swimming through the anchorage in his M&S underpants, and demonstrating to his son how to climb into an inflatable dinghy using a knotted painter.

I lost count at around 375 boats in Studland Bay last summer ... bit like counting sheep cos they kept getting up and moving!

Didn't include Barfleur as she went out... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sorry to see Pilot Cove is getting so crowded though. When we used to go there 20 years ago, 10 boats was a crowd, and not infrequently had the place to ourselves!

As you haven't put a time limit on this.......

DURING THE WA-AR (echoes of Uncle Albert there) my Father says that there were so many boats anchored in The Solent in preparation for D Day that you could virtually walk from the mainland to the IOW.

Do I win?

Blimey, I have never seen pilot's cove anything like that; when I was last there it was disappointing if one other boat turned-up. Perhaps as well I moved on, here are my last 2 anchorages:
