Can you get remote controls for a Mariner 4HP 2 stroke OB?

I love the simplicity of my little boat.

But I would like remote controls for my OB. It's a Mariner 4 HP 2 stroke.

I'm only thinking of remote control for throttle and gear change, what I believe is normally called a morse control. Is that available for these small engines?

It would just make berthing in the harbour slightly easier.

At a price. You need the fitting kit which are all the bits to fit to the engine to which the cables connect. (I paid £115 for mine for a Tohatsu. Your Mariner may be one or a Yamaha)
Then you need the cables. £15-£30 each.

Then you need the remote control box. Ultraflex are cheaper at about £90
(but not as precise as Morse or Teleflex, this precision also depends on the fitting kit, where a lot of play can be generated)

So it'll be costing you about £250 unless you can source secondhand bits.

Oh. The dealers don't believe anyone can fit the fitting kit themselves and try to get the job.

So it looks do able. but at those prices I might have to keep an eye on ebay etc for something second hand. The cables will only need to be short.

Yes it will cost more than the outboard!
