Can someone identify the rope that these halyards are made of?

The red one is used for the spinnaker halyards and the blue-green one is used for the headsail and mainsail halyards.

The cores look to be something “upper middle tech”…

If they’re the ones that Kukri came with when you bought her, try asking JSASTC. IIRC the lines fitted were high tech ones and Vectran comes to mind, but it’s a little while since I sailed Kukri so I may be wrong.

Being a British yacht I would expect some focus at buying UK product. Which limits the choice. Bridon made ropes for yachts, but sold this business to....?? and I don't recall when. I do recall they made dyneema ropes - so 'recent'. Rothmans used Bridon dyneema.

Why is it important?

It is irrelevant what they used then - what is important is what you should use now. I am sure what Kukri is equipped with was state of the art when bought but state of the art has moved forward. I'd ask Marlow for their advice and maybe balance that advice with a recommendation from, say, Liros.

But maybe I have mis-interpreted the thread

If you look in the Jimmy Green site you will see what seems to be both patterns in the Liros rope section. Liros is sold in quite a lot of chandleries. Being of good quality one might consider staying with that manufacturer, although a UK manufacturer would be more patriotic. Does not mean to say that Marlow actually make the rope any more, after the buyout though- Does anyone know?
I do not think anyone has mentioned English Braids. Are they still about?

The red one looks like matt braid?
The other one, the fleck pattern should be unique.

If it's the ex-military boat I'm thinking of, the rope might not have come from a civilian source.
Boats are not the only users of technical string.

English Braids are definitely still about - privately owned and based in Malvern, they still seem to have a relationship with Alex Bennett who now has his own Swan 46 race / cruise charter boat (see FB) English Braids | UK Manufacturer of Ropes and Cords

The blue one looks marlowish…. Might be worth contacting them. I have sent them photos in the past and they responded.
