Can I glue Dyneema?

If i am on the boat, to tighten mine I have a small "G" cramp & sometimes mole grips, & I just cramp the end to the mainsheet track & tug against that with the marlin spike. At home I put the end in a vice & tug.. It soon tightens & I have never found it an issue
Have you actually tried one, or are you looking for a problem that does not exist? You might be better than you think

Not being on the boat I am probably over thinking it. Thanks

I have a rugger playing medical student, but only in his vacations!

So he plays rugby and studies medicine for relaxation during vacation - that's unusual enough - what's his day job?

I have a medic granddaughter who has spent her labs in the last few months glued to a computer screen - its all a bit of a worry. Maybe I should have taken Zoidberg's advise - acetone.

:)

I agree superglue would be too brittle for rope. Having stuck myself inextricably to various items/materials, I now use the gel formulation which is much more controllable.

i think I have found a way to get a diamond knot really tight without using a winch. Make the knot and work it tight, then take two pairs of pliers, grab a strand with one pair and rotate them against the other pair - in effect using them as a Spanish windlass.

The third picture shows how much the knot tightened up - when I started the double overhand knots were tight up against the diamond knot. I got seven centimetres of 5mm dyneema out of a “tight” diamond knot.
