Can anyone recommend a good sterndrive repairer?

Hi,

I just need a simple gear swap from a damaged lower gear case to a good gear-case. It takes several specialist tools so it is an expensive job for a DIY'er. I wonder if anyone knows someone that would have the specialist tools and experience to tackle a Mercruiser Alpha 1 Gen 2 sterndrive. This is a very common drive so I would image any sterndrive shop could do it. Trouble is, I can't seem to find one in the South East (Solent area).

Many thanks for that. I know Tom really well. He is always my first choice but he is absolutely maxed out with work. This is because he is undoubtedly the best of the best.

Another vote for Tom. You might try Burlesdon Outboards, by the Cabin on the Hamble if Tom is too busy. I have never used them, but know others who have.
