Can anyone identify this gearbox

I am trying to identify the gearbox in my 1981 Elizabethan 31 (it has a BMC Captian 1.5l diesel engine that I believe came new with the boat).

Can anyone help to work out what it is?

I can't seem to add a URL for the picture of the box, so you need to look at

Thanks in advance,

Gearbox is a Technodrive manufactured in Italy. I do not think this is the original box if your engine is a true BMC Captain. BMC used to fit a very large mechanical epicyclic box which used brake bands and multi plate cone clutches. It may be that at some time the initial box has failed and a new Technodrive box and Bellhousing have been fitted. Technodrive boxes were supplied by Freedom Marine back in the 80 as I fitted one to a BMC 1.5 which I converted from a J4 Van, I think Lancing Marine may be agents for Technodrive.
