Hi, have an old boat 1968 and the electrics control panel has set of matching lighted panels naming what it does, the switch to turn on that function at its side and inside the panel, ( what I have been told) is a fuse/ breaker unit.
Can anyone identify any of these three things and as to where I may get them, I looked on radio spares but there are 1000's and 1000's and that is assuming you are looking in the right section using the name they call the part.
Maybe someone has some at home from an update to their boat.

if those are original, then it might be worth considering an upgrade to modern, safer, smaller switches, with in-built LEDs, rather than an 'as installed' replacement.

Is that a possibility, or do you want to like-for-like ?

I do not want to upgrade as I want to keep the boat as original as possible and the complexity of doing same gives me appoplexy, so will wait a bit and see if anyone has some old ones from an upgrade.
The farnell ones are maybe an option but looking at the spec sheets for both farnell and Radio Spares stuff, leaves me
really anoyed, all have yards of electrical spec but nothing about dimensions, what planet do electrical people live on.
And Radio Spares will not entertain any phone calls for tech info if you are not one of their dealers and when you ask for them to give you a dealers name they say thay cant due to data protection, yet another company who does not know what data protection covers, they do not dwserve anyones business

So the section at the bottom of the first page with a drawing and full dimensions is no good then?

Richard,

The orange ones are certainly circuit breakers, I have used them in the past. 30 Years ago they used to be available form RS but don't appear to be anymore.

On the front they have a number which is the current rating, but I can't read it from the image you posted. Can you post the value/rating that you need and how many.

Ian

Will need to go to boat at weekend to see if I can get any numbers off the units and come back to, thanks to all for your help.

The switches come under the "Industrial Panel" or "Automation" category. They were still being made in the 80s but I haven't seen this type very often since. I think they were made by Telemecanique which is now a part of Schneider.

They were an expensive item and made in a modular fashion. They used to be available in square, rectangular and round versions. Illuminated or not. Latching or momentary. Optional finger guards which are just a fitting option. The caps were available in a rainbow of colours.

There are probably similar switches made by other manufacturers but if you want an exact match you'll probably need to find an old industrial control panel with them on and salvage them.

The current rating of the orange breaker is printed on the orange square bit that pops out when the breaker trips. You may have a selection of different ratings on the panel. so be sure to take the info off the one you want to replace.

The circuit breaker was made by Mechanical products Inc Jackson Mich part number 2002-001-120, later may be a AMLIT CIRCUIT BREAKER, used to be stocked by Euro-tech in UK. Search around on the part number, manufacture may vary, par number remained common.

Switch photo not very clear.
