Dont know if anyone can help, ive recently moved to a house just before old windsor lock, problem is the mooring is very shallow & the river bed is loaded with concrete blocks bricks etc, just wondered if i need permission to have it cleared & if not does anyone know anyone that does this kind of work, just want to bring my boat home from eastbourne & moor it up with out damaging the drives

i would give the EA or Thames conservancy or who ever is the authority these days a quick bell... my understanding is though if it ajoins your property...as on the canals then its your responsibilty, get your waders on and see if they can be shifted by hand and block and tackle first.if not, hire a mini jcb..just be careful not to damage your bank or dig too deep.. dont forget also the lock keepers at windsor lock occaisionly drop the level to let high vessels through windsor bridge
