Can anyone help?

Hi folks.
Had a last minute problem last night .
Hoisted my fore sail on its Plastimo 609 r/r system, then ping, the top swivel unit has split in two, leaving half of it at the very top of mast and unable to get it down without going up, and the other half attached to the top of foresail.
Do any of you have a spare swivel unit, or know anyone who has, as spares cant be got for the 609 system anymore.
I would be greatful if anyone can help.

Its worth speaking to the riggers in all the local yards they may have scraped/replacd an old Plastimo system recently and have the part you need.

Suggest you try Mast & Rigging Services in either Largs or Kip - they might have something lying around.

Thanks Jim and Cliff.
I have found a supplier of a new one, but the price is a bit prohibitive at the moment, cause I have just had to order a new foresail to be made, and am coming closer to been a divorcee, so was hoping to get a used swivel and try patching up the marriage.
Will try what you suggest.

Classic problem with the Plastimo as the system screws together and as has happened to you it unscrews! Easiest solution is to grab an urchin and bribe him to go up the mast on a bosuns chair to retrieve it.
