This is regarding The Plymouth Hooker in the previous posting. Someone told me yesterday that she was in a magazine but couldn't remember which one!! it was either PBO, Yachting Monthly, Yachting World or Yachts and Yachting. She also couldn't remember whether december or january. Has anyone else seen her?

I am not overly keen on Google as it caters for the masses /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

For a more specialiste search I use:

www.ixquick.com

and it accepts boolean logic which means any linked words have to between inverted commas "Plymouth Hooker"

It accepts NOT and AND as a command lines and you can also specialise only UK web-sites by adding < URL:co.uk >

For example, if you wanted to only search in Tiawanese web-pages, use URL:tw or a Canadian web-site, try URL:ca

Ixquick is very useful for the more technical queries and searches /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hey Smiffy, writing as a fellow prole
''Give us the tools and we'll do the job''....
...I would say a big thanks to Lensmans ,
www.ixquick.com
.. is bl--dy impressive. I just tried researching some more obscure Ron Holland boatstuff and Google just takes you round the byeways and backlanes, whereas ixquick got the job done, nice one thanks.

Yes I gave it a try meself..............was quite good, but you can get similar results with Google by doing advanced search. I think that the biggest trouble with Google (as good as it is) is that it is paid for by advertising, so has to try and cover the most hits? If you see what I mean?

Incidentally.....what prole uses language like "Happy Crimbo"!! That's Chap Speak!...........On a par with "What Ho Jeeves", and other posh drivvle. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Happy Christmas to you too, bah 'umbug /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
