can anybody identify my boat?

Hi

It looks like an Arran 18 which I previously owned but that was about 17 foot long.

Very similar hull shape and cutout at the rear. Probably wrong but a similar looking boat.

thank you so much!

yeah, thats her! she's a nice, clean tidy example.

you dont happen to know if theres an owners club or website i might be able to 'tap into' do you? it'd be handy to see others, to give me some inspiration on how to do my one up.

once again, many thanks for helping me out.
regards,
manxpedro.

Definitely an Arran 18, mine measures up at 18ft 3ins over all, yours, I think is a later version than ours because of the more streamlined bilge keels, ours are just sheet steel with cast iron bars bolted on, did notice your windows are ally where ours are rubber, your companion way is straight sided, ours are tapered and were awkward to slot washboards in so its of no surprise they changed that, no owners club that I know of but a few owners have exchanged photos, we have just started refitting ours as we got it as a do upper having just sold our Silhouette Mk11, not much history available on the Arran but I believe the fore-runner was what the moulds were taken off could be the Tamarisk the same but in marine ply, there was also a (I think) a 20ft model brought out at a Southhampton Boat Show but I think orders were few, possibly Banham Boats Yards (Lytton Boats) at Riverside Boatyard were too tied up with big Broads Cruisers production

Thanks for your post!

i got it recently, but the owner has no idea what type she is.
she's 16' long. almost like a macwester rowan!

all help will be greatfully recieved.

many thanks,
manxpedro.

It helped me identify my little ship!

Very new owner (in Holland, please excuse my English) of an Arran 18, starting restauration this winter...

Arran 18 site

There is now a site set up to help any owners or interested folks about the Arran 18 based at the following address:

https://sites.google.com/site/arran18yachts/home

It's quite basic but is continually being added to and we'd be pleased to get additional photos and background from anyone that knows.

Many Thanks for all the info already here, it will be used to update what's on the site already.
