I'm in Abingdon with no gas. Everywhere that sells gas sells Calor, I've got Campingaz 2.75kg bottles. I googled and as a result had a wasted 3 mile round trip to Homebase.
Is there anywhere near Abingdon that sells refils?

WTF are you doing with camping gaz? Twice the price of calor and as you have found not readily available. Switch to calor propane and you can even have Christmas dinner aboard.

She's a(new to me)boat. The moulded fibre glass gas locker doesn't look like it'll take a calor gas bottle. If I had more.time before preparing for this trip I would have bought more gas. In my haste I hadn't realised that the 3 bottles on board were all empty.

They are called Camping Gaz 907. Abingdon Bridge Marine were stockists and I hope still are. They cost about £36 which is a eye watering price per kg I have the same bottles on my boat which is the largest size the locker will take

Thanks joejo. You're right, they did, but since Salters bought them out the Chandlery has become a tea room and it's fuel and calor only

Gocamping in Oxford looks like the closest, so it's a 16mile round trip by taxi in the morning.
Sod the size of the locker, I'm converting to Calor when I get home!

Thanks for the replies. I'm on a bus on my way back from Oxford with two full bottles.
The nearest place up this end is the 'Go Outdoors' store on the Abingdon road. A big camping and caravanning warehouse, but with plenty of useful stuff for the boater too

If you do convert to Calor do so with a bulkhead mounted regulator then it's easy to switch back to Camping Gas, should the need arise, using an adapter valve on the cylinder. Include a bubble leak detector too if possible
