Well... I will probably be shot down in flamesbut we use something similar on board. Its basically a Gelert camping cooking with a grill.
No flame-failure but nobody ever leaves the stove unattended. I do have a gas detector on board.
Same as I have. Try a magnet on it, its stainless!!
Same again, dont use it often, and when in use its on-cook-off with someone alert at all times watching.

My boat has a gaz cooker, 2 burners & grill; it's fully gymballed with pan clamps, anything else is only suitable for use in a calm harbour; gas or spirit, I reckon a lit cooker falling off a little shelf will probably liven up ones' day.
The gas bottles are in a non-standard ventilated box in the cockpit; the original 1970's set-up was a twin burner cooker with a gas bottle connected directly underneath as a counterweight, these are highly dangerous and now illegal.
The gas regulator is directly to hand at the companionway, and is only turned on while actually cooking, turned off immediately the cooker is turned off.
If these precautions can't be met, don't use gas !
In the OP's case I'd try the Origo first anyway, though a chum has a twin Origo, the boat does stink of meths and when I asked him he said he'd much rather have gas but can't be bothered to change.
