I'm about to buy "pastros" a wooden C&N in Croatia. I may be able to avoid ECD
requirements if I can show it was built in the EU. Is there a hull number or any
way I can trace if and where she was originally built at all? Thanks in advance.

My grp C&N 26 has a plate on the inside of the transom in the p/h locker saying it's a Halmatic hull built in 1966. Ergo, in was made in Britain.

Unless I am much mistaken if you can be sure that she was built by Camper and Nicholson you are home and dry because I have never heard of them building a boat outside Britain (or indeed otside the Solent!).

If she was originally British you will probably find her Official Number and Nett Tonnage carved into the mainbeam. and armed with this you can get a transcript of her Register from the Registrar of Ships in Cardiff.

Little brass plate

Usually in the companion way or on the aft end of the cockpit, should give her build number and will say either Camper & Nicholson's Gosport or Woolston.
If the bat how you know she is a Camper & Nicholson's?
