Came with Princess 43 what are they please?

They look like the base plates for your dinghy chocks. They connect with the fittings on your bathing platform; the idea is that you fit teak blocks to the base plates, and you shape the teak blocks to your tender.

Thanks for reply. That makes sense. I did wonder as supposed to have a chocking system. Unfortunately I cannot find any place it can be situated. No holes for threaded knurled nut or locating holes. I was hoping maybe someone with a 43 may know.
 
No keyhole slots on the bathing platform? Not much point giving you the base plates if there's no way to mount them ... a quick phone call to your supplying dealer (PMYS?) should sort this out.

I have tried Princess but no replies to emails. At least now I know what it probably is I can query with dealer how it secures to deck, and let them try to sort it.Looks a nice lump of stainless.

Definitely for the bathing platform. On my 43 there are stainless plates that the nuckles fit into then you screw it down to secure. Perhaps they forgot to fit the plates on your deck.

Thanks for that. I have looked at your photos and we have no fittings on bathing platform like yours. Only thing I can think of is that we havnt opted for the adjustable platform. I will check with Princess on Monday.

Been on to Princess and they say they only fit the slots on boats with lifting bathing platforms. I guess I need to find a 43 without the lifting system to check it out. Pity really as it would have come in handy for our tender.

I'd go back to them and ask what 'dinghy chock system' in the brochure actually means then...
 
Was it a cancelled order for a Mr Pistorius by any chance?

As has been said they are the stainless base for dinghy chocks. You have some wooden block made to take the hull shape of the dinghy and attach them to the top side of the stainless.

How times change, have we now got to the point where unless you have thirty odd grands worth of hydraulic platform (I actually have no idea how much they cost) you can't get a dinghy on the back of your boat ?

On our P42 I bought an aluminium hull tender which weighed less than 30kg and coupled it with a little 4hp Yamaha outboard. Lift off the outboard then lift the dinghy onto the bathing platform.

These days we have upgraded to a passerelle which is actually used as a dinghy crane - circa 300kg limit. We've had a jet ski on the back. But still no hi-lo platform.

I'm sure the dealer will have no issues fitting the bathing platform mounts for you.

Thanks for reply. Not sure who Mr Pistorius is? Princess Poole have agreed to fit the holding plates for us. Initially they thought it would need boat out of water but apparently this is not necessary, so shouldn't be too difficult to do. I must say that up to now Princess Poole/BUK have been very good sorting our snags out.

It's a sad state of affairs when my quality jokes need 2 esteemed members of the forum to explain them :)

I was indeed referring to the fact they looked like running blades.

Glad it's all sorted, I suspected there wouldn't be too much of an issue. It might be an idea to settle on a tender before they are fitted just to fine tune the location.

Also if it's not too late get in touch with Spotty Dog on here (Rapid Marine) as they have some really good deck fittings for this sort of thing.

Good point regarding siting of plates, thanks.
I can make the chocks myself once the plates are situated correctly.
 
Just a quick update. Mounting plates have now arrived from Princess and BUK are fitting shortly. I see how they work now.Thanks for all the replies and help/advice.
