hi Everyone on the way back a trip to ibiza i was low on power on the port engine and kicking out a lot of black smoke from the engine room so just limped home. I noticed the water pressure coming out of the exhaust is very low compared to a water fountain on the starboard. We checked the raw sea filter and cleaned it, The impeller had melted which was new two months ago. We replaced this and checked the heat exchanger yesterday which was allowing water to flow freely. The mechanic has said it must be the wet exhaust system however he cannot get around there due to the space. Does anyone know if the exhaust can be worked on without removing the engine and any other possible causes?
Just another point also. Turbo spins freely but digital dash says low boost and engine only rev's to around 700 rpm. Do these motors have a limp mode?
Thanks in advance
