My calorifier leaks. I've been around and tightened some (admittedly) loose fittings but this seemed to make the leak worse. It only appears to happen when there is hot water in the vessel. There are two engine water connections, two fresh water connections, an electric emersion heater and some strange device that makes a bubbling hissing noise when turned. The boat is a Moody Eclipse 33 1992. Any ideas?

The bubbly hissy thing is a pressure relief valve that eases the pressure when the water expands as it gets hot. Almost certainly this is leaking and its normal as they get older, you can run a pipe to a bottle to catch the water or replace the valve for about £5 from a plumbers merchants. Be sure to take the old one as ther are several different screw fittings and pressure ratings available
