calorifier bukh

Hi, any advice gratefully recieved, I have just installed a lancing marine calorifier off my salt water cooled bukh 36 , all fine and it tops up off the fresh water tank,unfortiunately the pump has started to run+++ not completly filling the calorifier , = possible air lock , any ideas ? do I need something extra?the calorifier is at the same level as the engine , an excellent machine by the way !

You need to have an outlet at the highest point of the calorifier so that air can escape when you fill it for the first time. If there is not one, can you change the position or orientation of the calorifier to achieve this? If you can only move it temporarily to enable it to fill, you will have the same problem if it is drained at any time.
