Anyone know what happend to her and where she is now ? I remeber reading about her round uk trip (nearly round trip missed ot a large part of Scotland ) in the mag some time back.

The boat that went around the UK was 'Missing Link' a Sealine F36. Since then we have had two Sealine F37's. a Broom 39 and a Fairline Phantom 40. All the other boats have been called Calm Voyager and have all now been sold into private ownership.
 
Sorry my fault Neale i forgot Missing Link, i realise that you are not able to say who has the boats now but just thought it would be intresting to follow the history of the boats
ie price the mag paid then resale price and if the new owners were happy about it what they sold for further on down the line and perhaps what engine hours are ,I know that i for one would be quiet happy had i been lucky enough to have purchesed one of them to provide you with such info. might make a good article regards resale values etc
 
Although we often speak to the new owners, we usually lose contact shortly after. Once exception to this was the new owner of our Broom, who came on an MBM cruising club event the next year.

The Fairline has only just been sold and as yet I havn't had any contact with the new owner, but I do hear that he is very pleased with his purchase.

A friend of mine has bought a phantom 38 off the guy who has bought calm voyager phantom 40, he says the 38 is immaculate so im sure he will look after the 40.

Essex boatyards sold him the 38 as it was took in partex for the 40 so maybe new calm voyager will be another fairline?

come on neale lets have it!

I did the "handover" of the 38 on Saturday - really good condition boat and I have to say I really loved those morse controls. A great bit of design and it handled likle a dream when I took it to fuel up.

We also did the handover of ex Calm Voyager as well. Jon did that mind you he had spent some time on it over the years.

As far as I know IPC lease the Calm Voyager boats, and then they revert to the main sales dealership to flog them on...in this case Essex!

I am sure IPC will love their new boat Absolutely!

I saw the Phantom 38 before and after the boat was taken in and subcequently sold to the present owner. Fairline Southampton did an absolutley marvelous job in preparing (re carpet and re-upholstering in leather) this boat. Its a beautiful example. However credit where credit is due, this was Fairline Southampton from their new office in Swanwick.

They did indeed. It was like, in fact looked better than new! Frankly I could not believe the boat was not new when I first boarded her.
 
when you say "handover" David what does that involve? showing the new client all the switches and controls I guess. Why does that need a skipper of your magnitude, just curious. A bit like handing over a new boat maybe?
