What fuel consumption would you expect from a Sealine S23 fitted with a KAD32?

Most of the time we have been plodding around on the Witham so cant really work out a fair average.

It uses less than 3 litres an hour on the river. That much we do know but we would like to know what it will use when we open it up and give it some real use.

If you look at the bottom diagram, lower dotted curve. (bear in mind this is a theoretical curve - will be 100% accurate for 0% of actual boats /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif , but gives you an idea).

e.g. fast cruise something like 20L/hr.

I burn easily 30l / hour at about 26knots which is where I spent most of my time, with the odd WOT blast to clear out the engine/turbo

Having said that, that's with full fuel & water and gear for a full weekend and usually 3-4 people onboard

Unlike Alt we tend to cruise in a more serene fashion /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif usually around 2000rpm giving around 20Knots and manage 20l/hr.

I think Niall's idea of a cruise is what we might call an "inland speed trial".

Hey, the food isin't getting any fresher in the fridge y'know - the BBQ needs to be lit! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Granted inland you tend to up the speed as most of the time it's calmer

When I was at sea, yes, I was cruising at about 20knots, and as low as 15knots (with the tabs down full)
