As some of you may know we are about to launch a major new series in MBY on boating in the Med. However, we need a few more volunteers to share their experiences of why they decided to head for the Med, how they got their boat down there and where they now keep their boats.

We are particularly keen to find people who keep their boat in Gibraltar, South of France, Italy or anywhere further East such as Croatia, Greece, Turkey etc.

We are also keen to hear from people who got their boat down there via the French canals, transported by road or sold their boat back in the UK and bought a new one in the Med.

Post your details here or send me a pm and I'll let you know what we need. It will only take a few minutes and will really help the feature come alive for readers who are considering taking the plunge.

Thanks

Hugo

How dare you

I resemble that remark!

If I remember correctly the lovely Kate B-C completed the Spanish leg of her trip and was welcomed by many of the decent types who base themselves there, she got to SoF but was greeted by a veil of secrecy by the dodgy types based there, and she then lost interest and never got to Italy, instead deciding to jack it all in and go oriental. Presumably this is why Hugo is inviting us to finish his article for him at no extra cost, so we can then subscribe to the mag to read what we have been up to.

Nice trick if you can pull it off but it does seem that MBY is getting more and more desperate for content and is dramatically short of fresh ideas.

Re: How dare you

How very horrid.

I happen to kno that mby is brimming with ideas.

However, i have idiotically failed to keep satisfactory records of recent trip to the med, so can't comply with the slightly pbo/mbm-ish request of how much it cost me in total, glub.

Re: How dare you

God, you crawler......

I bet you were the sort that always took Miss an apple in Class.......

i on the other hand used to sit at the back of the class impressing the girls by showing them my conkers and the ladybird/worm/beetle I kept in a matchbox.

Re: beetles

ah yes, i was going to talk to you about that, but wasn't sure how to broach the subject.

See, your dear wife had a quiet word with me a while back and said she was only *humouring* you about your beetles etc in matchboxes, and whilst it might have been okay when you were teenagers, she actually can't stand creepy crawlies really so all those hundred of sodding beetles you keep collecting and giving to her in matchboxes at birthdays and christmas - give it a rest, ok?

Re: beetles

I suppose you could try giving her empty matchboxes instead? She didn't say anything to me about not liking the actual matchboxes- it's just the creepy crawlies as far as I understood. Or maybe it was the fact that the creepy crawlies were in matchboxes rather than being free to roam about ? Yes, that might be her problem. After all, it must have been EITHER the matchboxes OR the creepy crawlies which attracted her to you in the first place.

Needed a new challenge so bought a boat when we moved here. Lots of fun and lots of challenges, but hey can use it all year round!
