If you double your budget you might just about be able to acquire a Wharram..... or perhaps even a cat like TCM's...... /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

No, seriously, Wharrams have a lot going for them - well proven to be seaworthy, and it is still possible to acquire one that is not too expensive, yet not too much of a wreck either.

You would be better off spending your 50p on a night out with one of your "Essex girls" and forgetting cats.

You could probably get a cat built by Eric Schoeman for that sort of money, but then you really, really, really shouldn't go to sea in it. Alas, it should be fine while firmly tied up in a marina, so perfect for liveaboard.

I spent three years looking for my cat and now think I know it all when it comes to what's available for a certain price band. PM your true budget and I may be able to point you in a few directions.

take it u mean a pussy cat there be plenty of pussies in essex you could get one black & one white tie a scateboard on their backs you then have a catamoggyran n not sure where you woul be able to moore it though. Dont go to Ramsgate as they dont like animals /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I always wanted a Prout 34 Event or 37 Snowgoose. Not the cheapest for the good reason that they are solid, they work, they keep going and someone will probably take it off your hands for at least as much as you paid, should you ever want to sell.

I'd have bought one but they went bust just before I was ready to put my money where my mouth was.

thinking of headin to the med meet up with my old folks...they already cruising/lazin about....i am trying to sell my yacht if any of you lot know anyone looking....

The Prout is a nice ocean going boat, but if liveaboard is the priority and cash is short, a Catalac 9m is really worth looking at. Accomodation is better than the prout, but it doesnt sail as well to windward. Its also slightly narrower so French Canals are easier.

If interested there are some examples at Multihull world at Emsworth (including mine) - if you want to know more about them, let me know.

now theres an advert to sell ya boat eh talbet...me folks got a catalac 900....would be like harold an hilda!!! hahaha...go on...how much are you asking? would you trade for a monohull?

You may be able to find early/or versions needing TLC for £15k or even less, but you would need to spend more than the difference to achieve the same standard of equipment.

the only good thing about them is you get more time to find the funds to get everything....i could pay ya in instalments...27 pence a week for ummm....a long time? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

If that was a serious offer, I would be prepared to accept at 27p (per minute). Any longer interval between payments might be acceptable depending on the rate of interest proposed!
