Has anyone any experience using the US "international callback" systems on offer?

[FYI - you sign up, providing credit card, then when you want to make a call (incl. from mobile phone) you dial a US number but let it ring just the once (so no charge) and hang up, the callback provider's system automatically calls your phone (it 'knows' the number) within 1-2 seconds with a US dialling tone that you then use to make the call, which is charged at low US landline rates not international mobile phone rates].

They seem like a Good Idea and we've met a couple of Brits in France who've used it successfully.

I haven't used it recently but I understand you no longer have to have a call-back. You just dial a local French number and the rest is transparent in the background.

Nope, but use superline, where you dial 1461 before the international number (slightly different for mobiles, but works ok).

I've found 'em very good indeed <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.superline.co.uk>http://www.superline.co.uk</A>
