According to page 7 of YM this month the lock repairs at Calais mean the yacht harbour will be 'out of bounds until at least the end of June'.

Well, I seemed to get in (along with a lot of others) without a problem this weekend, but does that mean they will be closing it? Does anyone have any information?

From what I saw at the weekend one of the gates had to be secured open by a wire hawser.

Last I heard was the gates were too heavy for the walls and they were cracking up.

The picture on the website http://www.calais-port.fr/port-de-pl...-de-plaisance/ shows a westerly fulmar called Misty Morn and a nonesuch 30 called Julie Marie and must have been taken at the LSC/ RNSA rally in 2006 if not before!

That makes sense. I watched a worker pouring red dye behind the gates to see where it leaked through.

So looks like YM is wrong again! I think (for once) Dick Durham is innocent

Not really!

The sill is fine - the bridge is the restriction on access once there is enough water!

What they need is more showers and toilets!
