"The French Navy has discovered a World War II German mine containing 700 kilos of explosive in the approaches to the port of Calais. A shipping alert to avoid the area has been issued and the mine will be destroyed in a controlled explosion during the morning of 27 March 2007. During the operation the port of Calais will be closed to shipping but it is unlikely that the port area itself will need to be evacuated. Delays to cross channel traffic will occur. You are advised to consult your travel operator."

I hear the French Government are trying to contact the German Government to agree surrender terms again /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

At least the froggies surrendered after a war. T. B. Liar surrendered to G Dubya Bush without a shot being fired.

Meanwhile, the rest of the world is giving us the "I told you so" treatment.

PS: Isn't it amazing how everyone keeps bringing up the war(s) we won, but is keeping very quiet about this one we're going to lose?

And before I forget: 6 nations rugby anyone?

I asked Berwick-on-Tweed HM if I may leave my boat in Tweed Dock for a week? He said sure, but move it over here, we are blasting! I said, Er, what do you mean blasting? He said, You know, dynamite! You may come back to find mud on the deck.

It was spilled concrete from loading cargo vessels, had formed a reef in the dock, which had to be broken up and removed.

On return, thankfully no problem.

ps. Guapa; Saddam, Sons and Chemical Ali forever?

We've known about the chemical stuff for ages.
Seems it wasn't a problem as long as he was gassing Iranians or Kurds.
Who sold him the stuff anyway?

No; we went to war for WMD & the 40 minute claim.

Meanwhile; massmurderer Mugabe is still sitting (not so) pretty.
Wot? No oil? Not interested! Let South Africa take care of that mess.
