Hi. I am off to Cala D'or next weekend to do a recce with a view to moving the boat there for a couple of seasons. Any hotel recommendations close to the marina would be much appreciated. Many thanks.

Nice place, plenty hotels, but I haven't stayed in any. The yacht club has one suite on top floor with a lovely view and it's right on the marina. They showed me around it. Highly recommended.

Hi Peter. Im about to book flights to Mallorca to do exactly the same thing. Of all the possibilities in Mallorca we seem to be homing in on Cala d'Or after a recommendation from a friend.
We will be looking at a few options on this trip including Sant Carles on the mainland.
Having a holiday first elsewhere, so can't get out until mid October, but I will be interested to know how you get on.
Also would be good to know if you found a decent hotel. Cheers
Rick

Hi Rick. We are currently based at Sant Carles and it is great. Our main motive for moving is we have family in Mallorca so I am hoping Cala D'or will work for us. The respective merits of different marinas has been done to death but I will report back with my findings and hope it helps. Enjoy your hols!

Thanks Peter.
Ive had a read through lots of older threads and am perhaps getting to the point of information overload. All very interesting to hear the views and preferences of med-veterans though and even though the views are of course all very personal, and dependent on all sorts of personal circumstances, it does give a newcomer like me somewhere to start! There is of course no substitute for first hand experience so I had better get my act together and haul myself out there to get a feel for the various locations. Im sure we will have fun looking even if CLOUD9 ends up staying in Torquay (although that's looking less and less likely now I have some momentum behind this, and SWMBO is on-board..... or at least teetering halfway along the passerelle!)

Good luck in Cala d'Or.
